Canterbury Encore Series 2013

encore1

Due to popular demand, The Bitches’ Box & Mel Parsons are pleased to announce a series of 5 shows across Canterbury to wind up 2013.

This year has been a busy one for both acts, with The Bitches’ Box gaining stellar reviews and sold out shows at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Mel Parsons touring UK/Europe and joining the cast of NZ music supergroup ‘Fly My Pretties’.

The first round of shows in Canterbury sold out early in 2012, and the girls are keen to get back to some of the audiences who were first to support their original ‘Woolshed Tour’.

This tour will see the show performed in it’s original format, with Parsons performing a solo set of music followed by The Bitches’ Box theatre/comedy show.

The shows will be performed in 5 working wool sheds across the region, and to round out each evening a fundraising BBQ for a local school or community group will be held, alongside a cash bar serving beer & wine.

After touring the entire length of New Zealand, we have been invited to join the International arts community in bonnie Scotland, to share with them our slice of rural kiwi humour.

We will be taking up residence in George Square in a venue called The Box (how fitting!) from 01 – 23rd August.

You can book tickets to our show by going HERE.  There is a very strong kiwi contingent appearing at the Festival this year, and everybody is doing exciting things! Come up and say hi!

The success of The Bitches’ Box nationwide tour took our breath away and that is all thanks to you, our faithful audience. We’d like to update you on our latest progress!Recently we were offered a full season at the prestigious Assembly Rooms for the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Wooof!Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest Arts festival in the world.  Over 2500 shows arrive from all over the globe and a million people pour into the city to see them.

We are thrilled to be given this opportunity and hope our slice of rural, kiwi, canine life will go down a treat with the British crowds.

There is quite a task ahead in terms of funding this venture (close to $30,000 required), and although Creative New Zealand have really got in behind us with a generous grant, we are still over $10,000 short.

What started two years ago as a humble woolshed show is now headed for the International stage. With your help, these two bitches can get to Scotland and show the world what rural New Zealand has to offer!

If you’d like to give these dogs a bone, please visit our Give a Little page by clicking HERE

Be it a liver treat or cattle beast rump, your contribution is received with our deepest, heartfelt thanks.
Love, Emma & Amelia
